The magnetic field: Primary sensor

NCTE applies the physical basic principle of inverse magnetostricion. We have developed a process which can orient appropriately the magnetic domain in a defined area of the ferromagnetic shaft, thus generating under the surface of the shaft a magnetic field with very unique and applicable characteristics. Advantages of the primary sensor:

  • Very low magnetic field strength (0,5 to 0,7 milliteslas)
    • The low field strength of the magnetic field prevents the accumulation of metallic particles on the surface
  • Long-term stability, robust against high temperature and vibrations
    • Demonstrated through successful tests such as Wöhler experiments and robustness test (aviation)
  • Force impact and torsion have an approximately linear effect on the magnetic field of the shaft
    • High accuracy / linearity of the sensor system is realizabl

The crucial part of this patented process is the method of magnetization by NCTE. We do not use magnets, but we apply an especially developed electricity-pulse procedure, which orients the magnetic field as required. Details...

We now proceed with the next part of our technology, the secondary sensor.
